"I was already Pro Life - I had an abortion at 16 and was plagued with the guilt and shame of that decision for years. I almost aborted my 2nd child 7 years later (same father), but when the Dr. entered the room I was crying hysterically (I wanted my baby so bad - a ached to hold the one I had aborted); the Dr. said he could not perform the abortion (thank God I was at my Gynocologist's office and not Planned Parenthood-like when I was 16). "By watching a video of an abortion really made me question what is involved. My reasons to support legal abortion are based on the welfare of the child in the long run, however, in some ways I now question the methods used. The real responsibility must then lie with the adults who consent to have sex and they should be ready to deal with all consequences of their actions. Although I always knew an abortion must be graphic in form I had closed my mind to the reality of the situation. The decision to have an abortion, however, must lie with the parents, even though I know I will never allow one to happen in my family, it would be wrong of us to impose our understanding of life and humanity on others. The video has made me think differently and I support your mission to educate people on the reality of abortion but I still would favour the law to come down in favour of pro-choice."
